Wolph started in Virginia when 16-year-olds Dylan Stickle and Joshua Wright began jamming together in a garage. What began as two teenage friends running through Grateful Dead covers and classic rock riffs quickly turned into something much bigger: a dynamic, full-fledged jam outfit pushing into new musical territory.
Rooted in blues, classic rock, folk, and open-ended improvisational jam culture, Wolph bridges the gap between old-school roots and new-wave energy. Their music revolves around tight interaction, dynamic grooves, and live conversations between instruments—leaving plenty of room for sets to stretch out and go somewhere unexpected.
Having worked on recording projects alongside production wisdom from industry veterans like Widespread Panic’s Dave Schools, the band balances live exploratory jams with sharp, melody-driven studio craftsmanship. Every show is a real-time conversation between the stage and the floor, built for the listeners, the dancers, and the Wolph Pack.
